I did not post yesterday because I am lazy and want to kill 5 birds with one stone.

So first off, I would like to say Happy 241st Birthday Marines!

Now, on to the main topic.

Today is Veteran’s Day.

Veteran’s Day is not to be mistaken for Memorial Day, Veteran’s day is for everyone in the military and Memorial Day is for those that have left us.

Veteran’s Day used to be called Armistice Day because it brought about by Germany surrendering on this day in 1918.

That is World War I for those not great with dates.

Germany surrendered on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

In 1954 we changed the name to Veteran’s Day and it has been so ever since.

In 1919, while Woodrow Wilson (racist, democrat, horrible) was president, he called for a remembrance of Armistice day upon the 1 year anniversary but it did not become a semi-official holiday until 1926 when Congress asked then President Calvin Coolidge (superb President, we have not had a better president since) to make a proclamation that 11 Nov would be an official holiday.

The extreme speed that government moves, it truly became official in 1938… only 12 years later!

I want to thank the entirety of the Army, Navy Air Force, Marines and Coast Gaurd for signing the dotted line of that check.
